Hampton Court House wedding
I’ve photographed several weddings at Hampton Court House over the last few years and it is a venue I always enjoy returning to, so I was delighted when Gina and Patrick booked me for their wedding. Hampton Court House is set in eight acres of beautiful gardens on the edge of Bushy Park and close to Hampton Court Palace.
‘Hi Simon, Hope all is well. First of all I would like to just say the biggest thank you for your help on the day. We’ve had so many guests say how lovely you were and we actually hardly noticed you clicking away in the background, which is exactly how we were hoping it would be.
Thank you so much for the photos – they’re so lovely! We spent the whole weekend reliving the day!

Wedding ceremony at St Raphael’s Church, Kingston
Gina got ready at home with the family dog watching events before heading half hour across London to St Raphael’s church, Kingston upon Thames. The beautiful Italianate style church dates back to 1848 and looks out across the river Thames. After the ceremony guests threw confetti before boarding buses for the short journey to HCH.
Hampton Court House looked very cosy on a cold day with roaring fires as guests gathered in the main hall for the drinks reception, large windows look out across Bushy park with Red and Fallow deer roaming nearby. During the drinks reception I blend in with the wedding guests and capture real moments, I always take the couple off for ten minutes for some photographs of them alone, these images are always relaxed and natural. I also take a handful of family group photographs. The rest of the day is captured in my hands off documentary wedding photography style.
The dining room looked amazing with candles and a winter theme, the red walls adding to the atmosphere. Speeches followed dinner and then it was time for the dancing, I like to get up close on the dance floor and capture lively images of the party.
