It all comes out in The Wash

Yesterday I ventured out into The Wash from the River Nene to photograph Dylan Winter who is slowly sailing around the UK in a small sailing boat.  I live 5 minutes walk from the River Nene in Northamptonshire, so it was interesting to see the River where it meets the sea.  I joined Dylan at Wisbech for the hour and a half trip along the Nene to the Wash.

The Wash has the biggest  single colony of common Seals in Europe, some of which I photographed on the sand banks.  When the tide goes out there are huge areas of sand, We ventured out to Roger Sands and waited for low tide to explore on foot before heading back on the evening tide.

Dylan allowed me to sail his boat for a couple of hours, and I somehow managed to avoid running aground.
