Springkell wedding

Weddings at Springkell.

I’ve hardly found the time to blog any weddings this year as I’ve been so busy photographing weddings like this one on the 27th May in Scotland at Springkell and Lockerbie. It was a long drive up the M6 to Springkell for James and Brittany’s wedding, a wedding the following day in Coventry meant driving back the same day, but the long drive was well worth it, Springkell is a lovely location for a wedding.

James and Brittany met on a flight, which is a little unusual, Brittany is from America and James is from Shetland, a chance meeting led to romance and marriage.

The wedding ceremony was at Holy Trinity RC church in Lockerbie, a delightful church with a very welcome atmosphere, I was greeted by Father Jim Hayes with the words ‘we like photographers here’ which believe me is not something I hear every day.  The weather had turned rather wet but this didn’t dampen spirits and I must admit to rather liking a little rain for photography. After the ceremony it was back to Springkell for the wedding reception, at this point the severe weather warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms proved true.
