Eastnor Castle Wedding photography

Emma and Will’s Eastnor Castle wedding photography.

I love winter weddings although they present many challenges to photographers with the very low light levels.  December started with Emma & Will’s wedding  at Eastnor Castle near Ledbury (venue website) .  I have photographed several weddings at Eastnor Castle including a previous winter wedding so knew I’d be up against it with the light as it is a very dark venue at this time of the year.  Many photographers resort to flash in dark conditions, but flash totally destroys the look of the photographs and I much prefer the look of available light.  For photographers reading this, many of the photographs up to and including the ceremony were taken on the Fuji X100 at 3200 iso at F2, for the darker parts of the day I used a Canon 5DmkII at 6400 iso often at F1.4.

Coverage started with photographs of Emma and the bridesmaids preparations before I caught up with Will greeting the ushers as they arrived.  The ceremony was at 4pm in the Gothic Drawing room at Eastnor Castle, this is a really amazing room with beautiful tapestries  hanging on the walls. I used the Fuji X100 to photograph the ceremony as it has an almost silent shutter and allows me to take photographs without disturbing quiet parts of the ceremony.  After the drinks reception the wedding breakfast and speeches took place in the State Dining room.

I do hope you enjoy the photographs I have selected from Will and Emma’s Eastnor Castle wedding photography.
