An analogue autumn wedding on film

I have recently (2023) started offering wedding photography on film, well actually I should say re-offering as when I started in wedding photography it was 100% film. Film can be challenging in dark conditions so what better a challenge than to photograph a wedding in October on a dark overcast day!

I set out to produce a set of images that stand out as not being digital, I can’t see the point in shooting film and having results that look very similar to digital photography as you might as well save the expense and extra work involved with film. Personally I love working with film, especially black and white.

On this wedding at Lains Barn I was the analogue photographer and the couple had a digital photographer for their main photographs. I wanted to capture something different and uniquely analogue looking.

Lains Barn at Wantage is a lovely wedding venue dating back to 1750. Originally an agricultural barn that was later converted to the venue that stands today, Lains Barn is very popular for weddings and for good reason.
