Good to be back at Dodford Manor again for another Northamptonshire wedding in March 2018.
It’s always great to visit local venues again, so I was delighted when Gemma and Matthew booked me for their wedding at the gorgeous Dodford Manor in Northamptonshire. Time for a quick introduction – I’m Simon Atkins, a wedding photojournalist based in the heart of Northamptonshire, this is my 18th year of photographing weddings and I still really love my job (which I hope is obvious in my images).
Winnie the dog came too.
I first met Gemma and Matthew back in April 2017 at their home in Northampton, along with their gorgeous dog Winnie who tried very hard to jump all over me, not that I care as I have my own very lovely Golden Retriever. They told me of their plans to include Winnie in the wedding. Fast forward to March 2018 and their big day arrived, somewhat wet and cloudy. My first port of call was Fawsley Hall where both Gemma and Matthew got ready before heading to nearby Dodford Manor.
Dodford Manor looked spectacular lit with pink LED lighting that contrasty well with the rather grey sky. A rather emotional Matthew wiped away a tear as his bride arrived (with Winnie the dog watching from the back of the room) for the ceremony. Afterwards guests enjoyed a range of beers and champagne for the drinks reception before heading into the wedding breakfast room which was decorated in an Alice in Wonderland theme.
Winnie was looked after on the day by Katie from Star Paws at weddings.
A wedding sunset at Dodford Manor.
With such a wet day Gemma & Matthew didn’t get outside for much of the day, however they were blessed with the most amazing sunset which they went into the courtyard to enjoy.
