William Cecil Hotel wedding photography, Stamford.

Rachael & Scott’s wedding at The William Cecil Hotel Stamford Peter’s church Aldwincle on the 29th September 2012.

Rachael and Scott live in San Francisco, California,  but I didn’t have to venture far from home for their wedding which took place in Aldwincle Northamptonshire just a few miles from me.  Like many of my weddings I had been recommended to them by a previous couple whose wedding I had photographed.  My coverage this week started at the church with Scott’s arrival.  I must say a very big thank you to the vicar at St Peter’s, I meet many vicars and some make my job very difficult with restrictions on photography and some like on this occasion are very helpful and make sure I am able to get into great positions in the church during the ceremony, This really does make a big difference to the photographs.

After the ceremony Rachael, Scott and their guests boarded a bus for the half hour trip to The William Cecil Hotel in Stamford.By this stage of the day I had some really beautiful warm light to work with. The reception took place in a large marquee in the gardens.  Scott is from Australia originally and a lot of his Australian family travelled over for the wedding. No Australian wedding would be complete without a few verses of Waltzing Matilda! It certainly raised a few smiles.

The William Cecil Hotel reopened in 2011 after a complete refit, located next to Burghley House in beautiful Stamford, close to the A1. Weddings can take place either in the marquee in the garden or using rooms inside the hotel. The gardens are beautifully kept and make an ideal location for your drinks reception.

These are 60 out of the 400 photographs from the day – Rachael and Scott’s wedding photos from The William Cecil Hotel
