“From the moment I saw your work, I knew that you were the person I wanted to capture one of the biggest days of my life. We treasure our wedding photographs, you captured our day perfectly. For me each picture is a memory on a page and I unwrap my wedding album with joy. Thank you Simon, your work is second to none.   Kindest Wishes, Mererid”

WEDDING PHOTOJOURNALIST

What if wedding photography was somehow different? What if it was more about capturing emotions and love and less about lining people up? Would the photographs then take you back to that place and time in the way a piece of music can take you back in your mind? How would it make you feel if you could relive the emotions you feel on your wedding day, the nervous anticipation and the way you felt when your partner first saw your face as you walk into the ceremony?  Well that is in a nutshell what I do as a wedding photojournalist, I create a set of documentary wedding photographs that are about people, relationships and emotions. I capture real moments without any intervention at all and that is what makes my photography powerful and emotional. My pure documentary wedding photographs tell the story of your day and make you feel as though you are at the wedding.  When you look back on your wedding photographs many years from now the photographs of people you love will be even more important and all of the emotions and memories will come flooding back to you.  I am a wedding photojournalist with a background in newspaper photojournalism, this makes my photography distinctly different.

Listed as one of the top ten UK wedding photographers

I have been photographing weddings in my unique wedding photojournalist style since 1999, long before documentary wedding photography became popular and I was one of the first photographers in the UK to develop this style of wedding photography. My wedding clients have included celebrities from the stage and screen and household name comedians.  I was delighted to find my name on a list of the top ten UK wedding photographers. My work has been published in various wedding magazines and the Independent On Sunday magazine published a double page article about my wedding photojournalism describing me as “the UK’s leading wedding photojournalist”. I am recognised by my peers as one of the finest wedding photojournalists in the UK and I am the recommended wedding photographer at Temple Island and Wadhurst Castle.  I photograph weddings all across the UK, some of the venues I do a lot of weddings at include Jesus College Cambridge, Rushton Hall, Fawsley Hall, Hengrave Hall, South Farm, Great Fosters, Burgh Island Hotel, Dodmoor House, Hintlesham Hall, Holdenby House, St Mawes Castle, Eastnor Castle and Kelmarsh Hall.
